Features: With the vigorous development of choral activities, I have continuously received letters and calls from many choral conductors and music teachers both domestically and internationally, requesting the scores, piano accompaniment parts, and audio materials of the songs performed by our choir. Now, on the occasion of our choir's 20th anniversary, with the support and assistance of many friends, we have selected 177 works from the over 1,000 pieces we have performed and officially published them in four volumes, striving to meet the needs of society. Here are some notes:
1. Due to historical conventions and the characteristics of musical styles, we currently categorize the songs from the Soviet period of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and other countries in the "Eastern European Songs" section.
2. For foreign songs, we have made every effort to use a bilingual format (Chinese and foreign languages). Some songs even use three languages for reference to meet the needs of different choirs. For some foreign songs, to preserve the original style, we have adopted a version that sings only in the original language with Chinese translations of the lyrics provided. Another part of the songs is sung only with Chinese translations.
3. Since our choir consists of two parts—the "Junior Team" and the "Women's Team"—some songs in the selection are suitable only for women's choirs.
4. We have provided brief introductions for some songs. Some of the content is excerpted from Mr. He Xide's "Appreciation of 365 Famous Foreign Classical and Modern Songs."
5. The selection also includes a small number of religious works. The purpose is to appropriately introduce the influence of religious culture on musical life in Western choral music, hoping readers can approach such works from a materialist historical perspective.
