Features: The amateur flute examination of the Central Conservatory of Music has been in existence since 1995 and has played a significant role in promoting the popularization and improvement of flute performance. It has received praise and recognition from a wide range of amateur flute players, parents, and professionals. Some have also provided valuable suggestions for revising the internally printed examination textbooks. This officially published flute examination textbook, based on ten years of examination practice and extensive feedback, has undergone substantial adjustments and revisions to the previous flute examination textbook:
1. Additional orchestral excerpts have been added.
2. Exercises have been increased from 3-5 per level to 8 per level, with a greater emphasis on melodic exercises. Modern exercises have also been included, along with the addition of pentatonic scale exercises.
3. Pieces have been increased from 3-4 per level to 6 per level, with a focus on adding works from the Baroque period and modern times. This now covers a broader range of periods and styles, offering more options for selection.
Learning to play the flute is important for intellectual development, cultivating temperament, and improving cultural refinement, making it a key component of quality education. To excel in flute performance, systematic and appropriate teaching materials (exercises and pieces) must be selected according to the different levels of each stage under the guidance of a teacher, and learning must proceed step by step. It is not advisable to learn the flute solely using one examination textbook, as this can be misleading.
