Features: This series of albums selects a portion of Ming and Qing Dynasty calligraphy treasures from the collection of the Rongbaozhai. It includes scripts in various styles such as regular, cursive, clerical, and seal scripts, with most being published for the first time. To facilitate readers in appreciating and understanding the original works' essence, the albums have been edited to showcase the full view of the works, reproduce them in original size, provide enlargements of details, and include some color reproductions of the original works on the covers. These enhancements are beneficial for both practice, creation, and research.
Zhang Boying (1869–1949), styled Shoupu and Shaopu, was a graduate of the Guangxu era and a native of Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. A renowned calligrapher of the modern era, he excelled in regular and running-script styles, particularly in Weibei calligraphy. These two calligraphic works are fine examples of Zhang Boying's regular script collection. Among them, the "Four Essentials of Running Script" measures 172 cm in length and 42.5 cm in width. The "Treatise on Family Management by Zhu Xi" measures 129.5 cm in length and 32 cm in width. Both works are on paper.
