Features: This collection, Yunnan Hui Nationality Folk Songs, includes nearly one hundred folk songs that have been passed down in Hui Nationality areas in southern, western, and eastern Yunnan. The content is rich and is divided into categories such as "Songs of Praise to the Party," "Social Folk Songs," "Custom Folk Songs," "Children's Folk Songs," and "Mountain Songs and Love Songs." Although these folk songs are influenced by the Han Nationality and neighboring ethnic groups, sharing similar forms and styles with Han folk songs, their lyrics are deeply connected to the history, living environment, religious beliefs, customs, and daily lives of the Hui people. They reflect the social life and spiritual vitality of the Hui people from various perspectives. They praise the Party, celebrate socialism, and commend happy lives; they sing of labor and production, expressing the hardships of laborers in the old society; they sing of kindness and justice, condemning evil and ignorance; and they sing of loyal love, opposing hedonism and betrayal. The scope of these songs is vast, their language is simple and vivid, and their strong sense of life is deeply marked with the imprint of the Hui people. Folk songs record a nation's history of the past, reveal the voice of a nation in the present, and herald a nation's tomorrow and future. While expressing gratitude to the author and all those who have contributed to the development of Hui culture, let us inherit and promote the fine national culture in the connection and collision of the past—present—future, drawing nourishment from ethnic and folk literature, carrying forward the legacy, and moving forward together!
