Features: Still life paintings in oil, tracing back, were mostly backgrounds or embellishments in religious paintings, genre paintings, and portraits. With accumulated skill and time reaching a certain level, painters began to enlarge them, move them to the foreground, enhance their decorative qualities, and infuse them with symbolic and metaphorical meanings. Eventually, they stood independently, becoming a subject equal to genre, landscape, and portrait paintings. Many countries' still life paintings have gone through a similar growth process. This album primarily selects classic works of still life paintings in Russian oil art from the 19th to the 20th centuries, featuring painters such as Grabar, Mashkov, Melnikov, Moiseyenko, and A. V. Kuprin, among others. It comprehensively showcases the emergence, development, and evolution of Russian oil art, as well as the distinct artistic characteristics of each painter, offering significant reference and inspiration for China's oil art.
