Features: The study of the interaction between the lower lithosphere and the sphere, it is believed that the differences in deep processes among different mantle domains at different times are the important manifestations of sphere interaction. Generally, during orogenic belt activity, deep processes and magmatic origins are primarily controlled by crust-mantle interaction; during stable continental craton periods, deep processes and magmatic origins are primarily controlled by deep melt/fluid-lithosphere interaction; during the extension of continental and oceanic lithosphere, deep processes and magmatic origins are primarily controlled by asthenosphere-lithosphere interaction. In terms of considering the composition, structure, and spatial pattern of sphere interaction in the lower lithosphere of eastern China, the editors have expanded their regional focus from originally only emphasizing the eastern part of the North China Craton to include the adjacent orogenic belts, such as the Yanshan Orogenic Belt and the Qinling Orogenic Belt. The purpose is to compare the responses of the ancient craton and the orogenic suture to the Middle-Cenozoic thick lithosphere thinning event, in order to further understand the nature of this event from multiple perspectives. The book consists of eight chapters, including: sphere interaction in the lower lithosphere of typical regions in eastern China, the discovery of the crustal structure and important faults in eastern China, and the structure of the lower lithosphere in eastern China.
