Features: To support non-computer major university students in learning fundamental computer knowledge, enhance their computer operation skills, and provide a better tool for supplementary learning and scientific research in other courses, we have specifically compiled this revised edition of "Fundamentals of University Computer Science." The primary reason for this revision is the addition of the "University Computer Science Experiments and Tests" section. Our guiding principle is to propose experimental tasks and allow students to explore their own experimental methods. We only teach one or two appropriate methods to complete the experimental requirements, with hints or discussions, and each experiment includes a reference for the experimental results. The purpose of this approach is to help students master systematic computer fundamentals and improve their computer application skills. To align with the computer course proficiency examination of higher education institutions in Guangdong Province, we have specially included sample questions of various types in Chapter 7 of the second part for reference during review. This book can serve as a textbook for undergraduate, junior college, vocational college, and adult education students studying computer fundamentals. The authors of this book have long been engaged in the organization and management of the computer course proficiency examination for higher education institutions in Guangdong Province, the unified examination of "Computer Applications" for adult education, and the computer application ability examination for civil servants in Guangdong Province. The compilation of this book reflects their years of teaching and examination management experience and insights. The book consists of eight chapters, and instructors can select relevant content based on the actual needs of their students for teaching. Practical computer lab training should be strengthened when studying this course. It is recommended that the ratio of teaching to experimental class hours be 1:1. Lab operations can refer to the accompanying "Lab Practice Guide for Fundamentals of University Computer Science."
