"Autumn Room Recollections" consists of 6 reflective articles, 1 preface, and 2 appendices, published by Taipei Biographical Literature Publishing House in December 1969. Among them, "Eight Years at Tsinghua" was previously published as a standalone book by Taipei Chungguang Publishing House in January 1962. "Remembering 'Xinwen'" was included in "Literary Bonds." When included in this volume, the original appendices had the articles "Reviews," "Inclusion in Volume," "Reviews," and "Bitter Rain and Melancholy Wind" (included in the sixth volume "Fiction") removed. Additionally, three articles recalling the same period—"'I and Qingguang'," "Before and After," and "A Brief Talk on New Poetry"—were appended at the end. "Shiqiu Essays" collects 30 articles of various types, first published by Taipei Cactus Publishing House in October 1970, and reprinted by Taipei Dali Publishing House in June 1982. When included in this volume, the articles "Old" (included in this volume's "Yashu·Continuation"), "Three Stages of Writing" (included in volume "Literary Bonds"), and "In Memory of Tongbo Mr." (included in this volume's "Glimmering Clouds," i.e., "In Memory of Chen Songbo Mr.") were removed. "Seattle Notes" records the author's travels and observations in the United States from April to August 1970, totaling 26 articles, published by Taipei Far East Publishing House in January 1972. "Yashu·Continuation" collects 32 short essays, published by Taipei Zhengzhong Publishing House in October 1973. "Glimmering Clouds" has two versions: the Taipei Zhiwen Publishing House edition (March 1974) and the Taipei Crown Publishing House edition (August 1984). The Zhiwen edition includes 16 articles, while the Crown edition includes 7, with some differences in the list of articles. When included in this volume, the Zhiwen edition was used as the base, with the Crown edition's newly added articles "In Memory of Yushang" and "Random Notes on Old Stamps" appended. "Huayuan Dreams" is a memoir commemorating the author's former wife, Cheng Jishu, published by Taipei Far East Publishing House in December 1974.
