Published by Hubei Children's Publishing House, Little Ya, Playful Girl is a humorous novel series for girls created by children's literature author Zhou Zhiyong. Set against the backdrop of contemporary primary school life and based on real students, the series successfully portrays the lively and clever "spirit girl" Wang Xiaoya and her group of mischievous friends. The style is light-hearted and humorous, with sharp and witty language that closely reflects life yet boldly exaggerates it artistically, truly capturing the psychological and spirit of contemporary primary school students as they grow happily.
The first four books—Strange Flavor Spicy Clusters, Funny Ice Cream, Breaking News Snap Beans, and Super Stylish Curry Pie—were launched in January 2005 and quickly sparked a huge response among students, teachers, and parents, becoming a must-share among primary school students. By the time the new books—Magic Bouncing Candy, Cool Crispy Corn, Delicious Sesame Balls, and Sweet Chocolate—were released, the initial print run had already been reprinted twice.
