Materials Solid Mechanics (Volume 2)

Author: Zhou Yichun

Publish Date: 2006-01-01
Features: This book systematically elaborates on the mechanical problems encountered in the preparation (manufacturing), processing, and application of materials. It comprehensively and systematically introduces the elastic deformation, plastic deformation, visco-plastic deformation, and failure theories of various load conditions for metal structural materials, non-metallic structural materials, and functional materials. The book is divided into two volumes with a total of 12 chapters. The first six chapters of the first volume are the foundational part, while the last six chapters of the second volume are the advanced part. The second volume primarily discusses complex problems of discontinuous and non-uniform solids under complex loads. Chapter 7 considers the influence of time factors on the mechanical behavior of solids, specifically discussing the visco-plastic deformation of materials. Chapter 8 examines the mechanical behavior of discontinuous solids, focusing on the mechanical behavior of materials containing cracks. Chapter 9 investigates the impact of material loads on deformation and failure as the scale transitions from meso to nano, primarily discussing the characteristics of non-mechanical loads and the coupling effects between non-mechanical and mechanical loads. In this context, non-mechanical loads are mainly studied as thermal loads. This book can serve as a textbook for graduate students in materials science and engineering, mechanics, and related fields, as well as a reference for faculty, researchers, and engineering technicians in relevant disciplines.
