Features: Since the beginning of this century, Zheng Yuhè has primarily focused on creating large-scale sculptures and reliefs, such as Suzhou Pingtan (Suzhou Pingtan Opera), Oriental Charm, Birthday Plaza, and Four Great Kings. Among these, the most notable are the two sets of large sculptures commissioned for the newly built Yanshan Tower Cemetery. One set consists of Three Sages Buddha and Four Great Kings, located inside and outside the main hall of the cemetery. The other set is a zodiac-themed sculpture placed on both sides of the approach to the cemetery's aisle. These two sets can be considered his successful works in recent years, achieved through painstaking efforts. Zheng Yuhè has always adhered to the principle of realism that unites truth, goodness, and beauty. In his specific creative process, he emphasizes two key aspects: first, conveying the intrinsic spirit of the work, and second, ensuring aesthetic form. Like his previous works, the success of these two sets of sculptures lies in their perfect embodiment of these two requirements. Three Sages Buddha should highlight the compassionate nature of the Buddha as a savior, while Four Great Kings should emphasize the immense potential power of the guardian deities. The author has successfully and harmoniously expressed both the inner essence and aesthetic appeal of these two works.
