Features: The diary of a mountain village youth, Zhan Qingliang, once depicted the dreams of life amidst lush trees and red flowers. It authentically portrays the social life in remote mountainous areas around 1949, recording the inner experiences of the people in a specific historical context: the simplicity of rural life, unique local traditions, the confusion and alarm caused by natural disasters and warfare, the anxieties and disappointments of the lower classes, the joys and sorrows of a youth, an ordinary yet touching personal world, and delicate daily life details—all vividly presented. Dramatically, over fifty years later, the youth's diary somehow found its way to Shanghai and, by chance, fell into the hands of a curious individual. Originally, there was no expectation of finding the diary's owner, but when people traced the to that small mountain village deep in the mist, they encountered an individual at the village entrance who turned out to be the owner of the diary from more than half a century ago. The youthful vigor of his youth now contrasted with the aged farmer tilling the fields; the interplay of time evoked endless reflections. The youth's dreams were as brilliant as spring flowers, and looking back, it felt like continuing an unfinished dream or revisiting a past life—all the traces were blurred and faint in the distance. What memories had he left behind in his old age? Had knowledge truly changed his fate, or was it fate itself that had granted him different opportunities?
