Features: This paper primarily adopts the comprehensive research method of "history and literature combined" as its starting point, taking the "historian-centered" approach of the Five Dynasties and Northern Song as the focal point for the investigation. It specifically explores the considerations behind the adoption of Han Yu's classical prose in the "Tang Shi" and "Tang Shi," compares and contrasts the similarities and differences in the "concept of literary styles" and "selection of historical materials" in the "Tang Shi," and analyzes in depth the actual roles played by the two "Tang Shi" in the "rivalry between parallel prose and classical prose" during the mid-Tang to mid-Northern Song period. It aims to comprehensively and accurately grasp the developmental trajectory of the history and literature field during this stage, thereby expanding the macro perspective of interdisciplinary applications in Chinese history and literature studies. The paper consists of three parts: "Introduction," "Main Body," and "Conclusion." The "Main Body" is divided into four chapters.
Chapter 1 primarily discusses the origin of history and literature: the praise and criticism of "Han prose" and "historical writing."
Chapter 2 examines, under the premise of the "different perspectives of history and Confucian classics," the varying considerations behind the selection of materials from the "Shunzong Annals" in the two "Tang Shi."
Chapter 3 builds on the substantial achievements of previous scholars in discussing the debates surrounding Han Yu's "Epitaph for Suppressing the Western Qiang" regarding its "inaccurate content" and "deviation from literary norms."
Chapter 4 will take the adoption of Han Yu's "Memorial on the Bone of Buddha" in the two "Tang Shi" as a starting point to delve into the cultural reflections on the relationship between Buddhism and Confucianism.
