Features: The National Key Basic Research Development Program Project "Formation and Evolution of the Chinese Marginal Seas and Key Issues of Major Resources" was launched in September 2000, conducting in-depth research on key scientific issues such as the lithospheric structure and deep Earth dynamics processes of the Chinese marginal seas, the tectonic evolution of the East and South China Seas, and the control of marginal sea formation and evolution on the formation of major resources. This academic symposium exchanged and summarized preliminary research findings, forming some creative working hypotheses. The papers included in this book were presented at the symposium, with some discussing the analysis of newly acquired data from three cruises and seismic stations.
