Features: This book is a collection of papers selected from the symposium organized by the Seabed Branch of the Chinese Society of Marine Law to celebrate Academician Jin Xianglong's 50 years of geological work. The papers were compiled from those presented at the discussion session. The symposium was jointly initiated by the Seabed Science Branch of the Chinese Society of Marine Science, the Seabed Science Key Laboratory of the National Marine Administration, and the Academic Development Group of the "National Medium- and Long-Term Science and Technology Development General Strategy Plan" under the theme of "Discipline Construction of Energy, Resources, and Marine Science," aiming to promote academic exchange in this field. The symposium, titled "Establishment of the Seabed Science Branch of the Chinese Society of Marine Science and Symposium on the Development Strategy of Seabed Science," was held in Hangzhou on November 29-30, 2003.
