Features: Based on the research of the subject, we proposed the writing purpose and principles of the "New Century Higher Normal University Professional Series Textbooks." First, we adhere to the spirit of "upholding tradition while innovating." We maintain academic norms and a pragmatic research attitude, systematically introducing the fundamental knowledge of the discipline while extensively absorbing existing excellent research achievements. On the basis of "upholding tradition," we strive to explore new materials, propose new questions, and discover new perspectives. We aim to completely transform the traditional tendency of textbooks to focus solely on teachers "teaching" without considering students "learning," neglecting to cultivate students' spirit of exploration, self-learning abilities, and innovative capabilities. This reflects the unity of foundation, academia, frontier, and exploration. Second, the textbooks must be targeted. They are designed for higher normal universities (primarily newly upgraded higher normal colleges), catering to the specific teaching level of these institutions. The writing process should consider the actual conditions of faculty and students in this context, addressing the balance between difficulty, the relationship between "upholding tradition" and "innovating," the balance between foundational and specialized courses, the connection between secondary and higher education, and the relationship between teacher-training and non-teacher-training aspects. Tailoring to the diverse needs of students at this level, the textbooks guide them into academic research while remaining practical and applicable. Additionally, they emphasize the progress of curriculum reform in basic education, pay attention to changes in primary and secondary school textbooks and different versions, and respond accordingly. Third, the "premium strategy" and "talent strategy" should develop interactively. Each textbook is generally edited by professors or Ph.D.s with high academic achievements, with contributors typically being associate professors or master's degree holders.
