Her new work, A Study on Alain Robbe-Grillet and the New Novel, is her latest contribution to this academic field. Alain Robbe-Grillet is a renowned contemporary French novelist and literary theorist, the leader of the "New Novel" movement. His theories and creative works have had a significant impact on world literature in the second half of the 20th century. In 1984, he was selected as one of the "World's Seven Cultural Figures" by the Tokyo International P.E.N. Club. China's introduction to Robbe-Grillet began in the 1960s. From late 1961 to early 1966, publications such as World Literature, Digest of Modern Foreign Philosophy and Social Sciences, and Literary News published translations and special articles on reviews and introductions to the New Novel, making Robbe-Grillet's name familiar to Chinese readers. His works and the theory of the New Novel also gained attention from China's critical circles. However, it was not until 1979 that Robbe-Grillet's novels were gradually translated into Chinese and became the subject of study for Chinese scholars. Since then, Robbe-Grillet has continuously received attention in China, and his works have been included in textbooks and university curricula.
