A few suggestions for practicing scales, chords, and arpeggios:
1. Practice with each hand separately, starting at a slow tempo. Focus on producing full, even, and clear sounds.
2. Play strictly according to the fingerings for each key to develop good finger habits.
3. Maintain a consistent tempo and play rhythmically. Begin at =60 and gradually increase to =120.
4. Keep your shoulders and wrists relaxed. Lift your fingers independently when playing, press the keys firmly, and ensure your fingers rise after pressing to produce clean and clear sounds.
5. To play scales and arpeggios well, the thumb is key. Prepare for the thumb to turn inward and for other fingers to cross over it, ensuring smooth and even execution of scales and arpeggios. Play scales and arpeggios legato.
6. When playing chords and double notes, support your thumb and pinky to maintain a good hand shape. Keep your arms and wrists relaxed and direct the force to your fingertips.
