Features: As a systematic textbook for practice pieces, Czerny's Piano School of Velocity (Op. 849) is a commonly used teaching material for beginners in the foundational stage. For most students, they can move on to Czerny's Piano School of Velocity Op. 849 after practicing around 70 pieces from Piano Elementary Exercises Op. 599. However, for younger piano students or those with weaker foundations, appropriate supplementary lessons may still be needed based on their finger independence. For instance, using Czerny's Piano School of Elementary Exercises Op. 139 as a transition piece. Although still a relatively basic exercise work, Op. 849 contains a rich variety of technical types. If students can clearly understand the technical features and difficulties of each piece during practice, analyze and study the training objectives and effects of each piece, and achieve a certain level of performance in terms of tone variation and speed dynamics, then they will have laid a solid foundation for learning intermediate and advanced piano works. It is not difficult to play this score, but as the name "Velocity Exercises" implies, a certain speed is required. To truly meet this demand, it takes considerable effort. First, we must teach students to learn to add wrist movements corresponding to different note patterns based on the preliminary independence of their fingers, so that they can handle long repetitions of the same note patterns—knowing that this is one of the most common textures in 19th-century music.
