Features: Since the large-scale artificial cultivation of shrimp began along the coast in the late 1970s, China's shrimp farming has achieved remarkable development worldwide. By 1992, the national cultivation area had expanded to 138,670 hectares, with a shrimp output of 207,000 tons and an average yield of 99.5 kilograms per hectare, making China a world leader in shrimp farming and opening new paths for economic prosperity and wealth creation in many coastal regions. However, the outbreak and spread of shrimp diseases in 1993 caused significant losses to China's shrimp farming industry. Currently, this disease still occurs to varying degrees in many shrimp cultivation areas along the coast, with some remaining particularly severe, and it continues to emerge in neighboring countries and regions. Now, as the pathogen has been confirmed to be the white spot syndrome virus (WSSV), there is still no effective control method. Localities have had to develop practical shrimp health farming experiences and models based on actual conditions, leading to successful or high-yield production. This has brought new vitality to shrimp farming. To adapt to this situation and promote the sustainable development and resurgence of China's shrimp farming industry, we have collected successful cultivation techniques and health management measures from various regions, combined them with relevant research findings and our own practices, and compiled them into this book for reference and learning by relevant personnel.
