Features: Since its publication, the textbook for the CNC Machining program in secondary vocational and technical schools across China has played a significant role in meeting the teaching needs of secondary vocational and technical schools and related vocational training, receiving widespread praise from teachers and students. However, with the rapid development of China's socialist market economy and modern machining technology, society and enterprises have raised new and higher requirements for the knowledge and skill structure of skilled talents, and CNC technology and equipment have also made great progress. To adapt to the needs of cultivating skilled talents in the 21st century and to meet the teaching requirements of the CNC Machining program in secondary vocational and technical schools nationwide, we have comprehensively revised the original textbook based on the "Teaching Plan and Teaching Syllabus for the CNC Machining Program (2005)" issued by the Training and Employment Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. The revised textbook includes: "CNC Machining Technology (2nd Edition)," "CNC Machine Tool Programming and Operation (2nd Edition, Lathe Subvolume)," "CNC Machine Tool Programming and Operation (2nd Edition, Milling Machine and Machining Center Subvolume)," and "CNC Machining Technology." Among these, the first three textbooks are also accompanied by exercise books. During the writing process of this series of textbooks, we have consistently adhered to the following principles: student employment orientation and enterprise standards as the basis. In terms of professional knowledge arrangement, we closely align with the characteristics of the training objectives, adhering to the principles of sufficiency and practicality, discarding theoretical knowledge that is "complex, difficult, biased, and outdated," while further strengthening the intensity of skill training, especially focusing on basic and core skills. Considering the conditions of schools in various regions, we strive to reflect the current status and trends of the machinery industry, introducing as many new technologies and equipment as possible to make the textbooks more contemporary. At the same time, we adopt the new national technical standards to make the textbooks more scientific and standardized. Following the cognitive patterns of students in secondary vocational and technical schools, the structure and expression emphasize a gradual progression from simple to complex, step by step, emphasizing teacher-student interaction and student self-learning, and through numerous case studies from production and illustrated content, enabling students to grasp the material more easily. During the writing process, the textbook also references relevant national occupational standards. The writing of this series of textbooks has been supported and assisted by the Labor and Social Security Departments of Jiangsu, Shandong, Shaanxi, and other provinces, as well as relevant schools. We express our heartfelt gratitude for this support. The main content of "CNC Machine Tool Programming and Operation (2nd Edition, Lathe Subvolume)" includes: introduction to CNC lathe programming, programming and operation of the domestic Huaxing turning CNC system, programming and operation of the commonly used Siemens turning CNC system in Germany, and programming and operation of the typical Fanuc turning CNC system in Japan, etc.
