Features: The Water Margin is a long historical novel that was finally completed after centuries of brewing and accumulation during the Song and Yuan dynasties. It brings together the tragic stories of the heroic bandits of Mount Liang, embodying the ideals, emotions, and wisdom of countless Chinese people. Running through the novel is a "loyalty to the emperor but rebellion against corrupt officials" ideology, shaped by the special historical environment, as well as a heroic spirit deeply rooted in the common people. The Water Margin portrays a group of vivid and brilliant legendary heroes: the bold and fierce Wu Song, the loyal and straightforward Li Kui, the rough but sincere Yu Zhishen, the fierce and astute Shi Xiu, the righteous and capable Song Jiang, and others. The great Ming Dynasty thinker Li Zhi enthusiastically praised them, saying, "All the heroes of Water Margin are mighty, wise, loyal, and righteous." The Water Margin followed the tradition of Song and Yuan storytelling, using Northern dialect as its foundation. Through meticulous refinement, it created a vivid, expressive, and exceptionally rich literary language, reaching a level of perfection. The Qing Dynasty literary critic Jin Shengtan remarked, "The Water Margin depicts one hundred and eight people, each with their own temperament, character, appearance, and speech."
