Eileen Chang's Illustrated Words

Author: Zhi'an

Publish Date: 2003-10-01
Features: The three characters "Eileen Chang" have influenced half a century, with their red and green chaos. She is a well that allows all sorts of gentlemen from various circles to freely dig into it, generous and trustworthy—no matter how much they dig, they can never reach the bottom. Beyond her novels and essays that have been passed down, Eileen Chang also left behind painting works, including illustrations for her own or others' works, cartoons, front pages for magazines, and book cover designs. The earliest known paintings by her are from December 1936, featured in the fourth issue of "Guoguang" at Shanghai St. Mary's School, titled "A Classmate's Sweet Dreams"; the latest are multiple illustrations included in the prose collection "Rumors," published in December 1944. A total of seventy-six of her paintings are preserved, along with four by Yan Ying, which are also closely related to Eileen Chang and are included in this book in their original form.
