Features: The story of Treasure Island primarily unfolds from Jim's perspective. The author successfully captures a child's observational viewpoint, ensuring that the entire narrative, from word choice to speech patterns, aligns with a child's language habits. This treasure map of exploration and adventure, depicted for young readers, exudes a strong sense of childlike charm while also brimming with an alluring aura of adventure, making the work a perennial favorite among young readers. Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is another work by Stevenson with a vastly different style. It is a fantastical tale depicting the coexistence of good and evil within a single human heart. The protagonist, Dr. Jekyll, possesses a dual personality—by day, he is a respected and virtuous physician, but in private, he harbors sinister thoughts. This work is undoubtedly crafted with exceptional literary skill. It transports readers from reality to another realm where extraordinary events unfold, yet they are explained in a way that feels plausible. Stevenson uses a fantastical imagination to express his profound skepticism about human nature, vividly portraying the stark contrast between a person's outward appearance and their moral essence. Dr. Jekyll, a medical physician, believes that human nature contains two irreconcilable opposites—good and evil—and he fantasizes about separating them. He develops a potion that, when ingested, transforms him into another self—the evil, slender Hyde. Hyde indulges in revelry and, upon consuming another potion, reverts to Dr. Jekyll. After Hyde commits murder, he takes the potion again to transform back into Dr. Jekyll.
