Features: This article explores the rules of tones, especially the rules of regulated tones, in classical Chinese poetry, lyrics, quatrains, parallel prose, rhyming prose, and other literary forms. The method adopted is to lay out these literary forms, analyze the established views of previous generations, and derive some current possible rules from specific phenomena. However, if one asks how these rules were formed or why classical Chinese poetry and prose have such rules, further exploration with the help of many aspects is still needed. For now, only the "necessity" of these rules can be presented, not their "reasons." These preliminary results can only be considered as steps and materials for further research.
