The 16 women interviewed in this book, who are deeply involved in the emotional lives of "fourth parties," are mostly different from those who used to be torn apart in love's whirlwind, only to be left broken and unable to recover, becoming women filled with rage or lament. Instead, they have found a balance in this life, a relatively satisfactory life state, and have grasped a degree of preserving their own love and happiness. This may be due to their independent living capital and certain cultural literacy.
