Features: Generally, learning and practicing calligraphy starts with copying inscriptions from stone tablets. The learner studies the strokes and structures of the model characters to achieve consistency with the original tablet. However, if one merely copies by comparing, it may gradually become monotonous and lack interest, as if something is missing. How can we make the relatively monotonous process of copying more diverse and engaging? We chose to combine copying with creation by selecting model characters from stone tablets, arranging them into statements of exemplary moral conduct from, and structuring them into various forms of calligraphy works. This approach aims to study the layout and composition of the tablets while copying, adding more fun, moral refinement, and a sense of achievement to the process. This book selects model characters and strives to avoid repetition of the same characters that appear multiple times in a single work. It adopts a nine-grid format with strong black-and-white contrast, creating the best conditions for beginners to copy. For characters not present in the original tablets, we have used imitations, ensuring they align with the original style. Each maxim is accompanied by a complete calligraphy work, with a focus on diverse forms. Every calligraphy work is also accompanied by a layout explanation.
