Features: A city TV station director once told me, "Among our TV professionals, many people start 'marching in step' without undergoing 'stand at ease' and 'at ease' training. This greatly affects the further improvement of the quality and taste of TV programs." Although this statement may carry a hint of modesty, upon careful reflection, it holds some truth. Later, I conceived the idea of writing this book, An Outline of TV Program Studies. Ten years ago, I participated in the compilation of China Radio and Television Studies. The China Radio and Television Studies that people see today is the full name of the discipline. Broadcasting and television both use radio waves or wires as carriers, both produce programs as their final product, and both undertake largely the same tasks, sharing many similarities. It is reasonable to study broadcasting and television together. However, broadcasting studies and television studies are after all two independent disciplines. When we study broadcasting programs and television programs separately, we will find that they differ greatly. Therefore, the study of TV program studies can be said to be a continuation or bridging study of radio and television studies. Since it is a continuation of radio and television studies, it must inherit the research achievements of radio and television studies. This book has absorbed some discussions by Cheng Wangjie, Lu Yuan, Ge, He Dameng, and others in chapters such as "Program Elements," "Program Production," "Program Classification," and "Program Broadcasting," and this is specially noted here.
