Features: In China's long-standing and rich calligraphic art, the stele calligraphy of the Northern Wei period (386–534 AD) enjoys a high reputation. It possesses a unique artistic style and is celebrated in calligraphic history as the "Wei Stele Style." The "Wei Stele Style" is essentially within the category of regular script (also known as Zhengshu or Zhenshu). The Twenty Pieces of Dragon Six is one of the representative works of the "Wei Stele Style," selected from the inscriptions of Northern Wei-era statues at Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, Henan. The Longmen Twenty Pieces have been widely printed over the years, and this edition reproduces the best prints from the Qing Dynasty's Jiaqing and Qianlong periods held in the collection of the Beijing Library. Each piece is first reproduced as a full print, followed by a life-size reproduction of a section of the print.
