Features: Health assessment is a crucial course for cultivating modern nursing concepts and serves as the foundation for students learning clinical nursing-related courses. The content of this course is extensive, primarily including methods for collecting health data, psychological and social assessments, symptom assessment, physical assessments, functional health assessments of the human body, as well as auxiliary examinations such as electrocardiograms, imaging tests, and laboratory tests. It also covers nursing diagnoses, nursing case documentation, and how to apply diagnostic reasoning to analyze and synthesize data. Students learn to collect and comprehensively analyze health data in a real, systematic, and complete manner, identify health problems in nursing subjects, propose preliminary nursing diagnoses, monitor and assess changes in conditions, and lay the groundwork for further clinical nursing studies. In the writing of this textbook, emphasis was placed on professional principles, competency-based principles, and innovative principles. It is primarily intended for teaching skilled nursing professionals in higher medical education, specifically the specialized secondary school to college education model ("3+2" mode). It can also be used as a reference for nursing education at other levels and for clinical nursing practitioners. To improve the quality of the textbook and meet teaching needs, extensive references and textbooks were consulted during the writing process. Sincere gratitude and respect are expressed to the original authors.
