Features: Liu Dekuan, a disciple of Dong Haichuan, created the straight-line Bagua Palm routine based on the principles of the "I Ching." This routine is divided into eight sections, each containing eight forms, totaling sixty-four palms. Each section begins and ends with the "Old Monk Carrying a Bowl" stance. Why was the straight-line Bagua Palm created? It is said that at the time, Liu Dekuan served as a martial arts instructor in the military. The straight-line back-and-forth practice of martial arts was more space-efficient and easier for group training compared to the circular practice. Since this routine was created by Liu Dekuan, later generations called it the "Liu Style Eight Methods" or the "Liu Style Sixty-Four Palms." Additionally, because its performance style involves straight-line back-and-forth practice, it is commonly referred to as the "Straight-Line Bagua Palm." The straight-line Bagua Palm is composed of sixty-four separate techniques, so its full name is also the "Straight-Line Bagua Sixty-Four Separate Palms."
