Features: Identifying cultural relics is a fundamental skill for cultural relic workers and enthusiasts, serving as a necessary prerequisite for confirming the intrinsic value of an artifact. The splendid culture of ancient China has left behind a wealth of cultural relics. Due to historical reasons, the authenticity of these relics is often mixed. Therefore, mastering the knowledge of cultural relic identification is of great importance for those involved in collecting, appreciating, understanding, and researching cultural relics. The study of cultural relic identification has long existed, and certain categories, such as calligraphy and painting, and jade artifacts, have left behind numerous specialized works. However, many of these discussions remain scattered, brief, and lack systematic theoretical summaries. In recent modern times, scholars have combined practical experience to write numerous identification monographs on categories such as calligraphy and painting, bronze, and ceramics, discussing them comprehensively from vertical and horizontal perspectives, as well as theory and examples, laying the foundation for the scientific modern field of identification. However, many categories, such as handicrafts and sculptures, still lack systematic theoretical monographs on identification. Today, as the "cultural relic fever" in China is gaining momentum, Guangxi Normal University Press has decided to publish a series of "Chinese Cultural Relic Identification" books to widely disseminate common knowledge of cultural relic identification. This is undoubtedly a great support for cultural and heritage work and also reflects the publishing principle of "prioritizing social benefits."
