Can a hernia heal on its own?

Patient's question:

The child's navel protrudes when lying on the bed and pushing hard, it's hard, and after I press it down myself, I can still hear something like air inside. But every time I press it down, I feel like the child is spitting up. Can a ventral hernia heal on its own?

Doctor's answer:

The condition is not severe and can grow back. If there are no other abnormalities, it can be temporarily observed. Pregnancy can continue, and tests can be done after the child is born to determine the condition and provide treatment based on the situation. Most children are like this. It is the most common condition where the umbilical cord passes through the abdominal wall, usually at a weak spot. When the abdominal muscles close, there may be a defect left behind. Excessive crying, coughing, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea can cause increased pressure in the abdomen.
