Chen was a physician who revered classical texts and antiquity. Although he had many unique insights into TCM theory, his descriptions of the academic thoughts, treatment methods, and formula- syndrome analysis of were not entirely fair, and his understanding of some diseases and syndromes did not fully align with modern TCM theory. These are explained or supplemented in the annotations. In the Shifang Gekuo section, after each formula, the annotations provide modern pharmacological research and clinical applications of the formula, along with a concise analysis based on modern TCM theory. This aims to help readers better understand the function, scope of application, and primary diseases treated by the formula, enriching and expanding scholars' thinking while deepening their understanding of the formula's meaning.
When the time is right, the method is effective. A new interpretation of the wonderful use of time.
