Features: To help candidates quickly adapt to the post-reform College English Test Band 4 (CET-4), we have compiled the "New CET-4 Core Breakthrough" series. The "Reading Comprehension" volume of this series aims to help candidates improve their test-taking skills based on their grasp of language knowledge and answering techniques, enabling them to smoothly pass the National College English Test Band 4. This book is divided into three parts:
First, it comprehensively introduces the reading comprehension question types of the National College English Test Band 4 implemented since 1987, as well as the newly introduced 710-point questions. Its purpose is to help candidates effectively grasp the principles of question setting, the characteristics of question types, and test-taking strategies for authentic test questions.
Second, it provides detailed explanations of the two main question types in the exam: Fast Reading Comprehension and Careful Reading Comprehension. The Careful Reading Comprehension section includes Passage Vocabulary, Passage Questions, and Passage Reading Comprehension. For each question type, it thoroughly explains solving methods, thinking processes, and techniques, offering strong guidance and foresight for the new question types introduced after the reform.
Third, after each skill guide, a certain number of targeted practice questions are provided, which greatly benefit candidates in preparing for the new question types. These practice questions are highly representative and predictive. If candidates can grasp the key points within them, they will achieve the effect of "learning one and understanding ten" and "generalizing from the specific to the general."
The authors of this book have conducted in-depth analysis and research on recently published books related to various topics and past national exam questions. They strive to make the content fresh, the design logical, and the focus highly targeted, aiming to create a comprehensive preparation reference book that integrates theory, practice, and techniques, suitable for students in the 21st century.
