Features: This book is based on the "Basic Requirements for English Teaching in Higher Vocational and Technical Education (Trial)" and focuses on the text as the key element. It provides sentence-by-sentence explanations of the sentence structures in Text A, along with detailed explanations of vocabulary, phrases, verb collocations, and grammar. It also offers thorough explanations of difficult sentences, points, vocabulary, and grammar in Text B.
Addressing the current situation where the English proficiency of students entering higher vocational and technical education varies greatly, this book aims to enhance their English sense and communication skills through in-depth reading. It emphasizes the cultivation and training of skills in reading, translation, listening, speaking, and writing, with the goal of improving their ability to read and apply practical writing, such as application letters, more quickly. This will better meet their needs in frontline foreign-related work and communication.
The book is divided into four volumes. After mastering the second volume, students can smoothly pass the B-level exam. Upon completing the fourth volume, they can pass the A-level exam and even the National English Test Band 4 (CET-4). Some students passed CET-4 after studying the third volume. When asked about their success, they deeply reflected, saying, "It is through in-depth study, understanding, and thorough comprehension of the texts—memorizing them if possible—that we achieve our goal of learning English."
The sequence of explanations in this book is divided into four parts:
① Original Text → ② Translation → ③ Analysis → ④ Explanation.
① Original Text: Presents the sentences of Text A in sequence and arranges the difficult sentences and points of Text B in chronological order from front to back.
② Translation: Provides an accurate understanding and Chinese expression of the original text.
③ Analysis: Analyzes the components of the original sentences.
④ Explanation: Offers detailed explanations of linguistic points in the original text and supplementary grammar analysis.
