Features: Chongqing, a place that is both ancient and modern, and undergoing tremendous changes. The ancient human fossils discovered at Longgupu prove that 2.04 million years ago, the Wushan people coexisted with saber-toothed tigers and two-horned rhinoceroses during the Early Pleistocene. With their crude choppers, they demonstrated their labor capabilities, thus winning development and abundance. Chongqing is also the most unique municipality directly under the Central Government in China, and even in the world. The city's jurisdiction is crisscrossed by three major rivers and countless tributaries, with all waters flowing into the Yangtze River. Among the 15 municipal districts, 12 are located along the Yangtze, Jialing, and Wujiang Rivers. In the county-level cities, Jiangjin and Hechuan also dominate the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. Among the 17 counties, 6 county seats are situated on the banks of the Yangtze and Wujiang Rivers. Even among the four autonomous counties, Pengshui is strategically positioned along the Wujiang River. It goes without saying that the changes in Chongqing at the beginning of the 21st century are profound and historic, and we feel deeply honored to be witnesses to this transformation.
