The series is organized into 10 volumes and 12 sub-series based on the development of Chinese literature studies. Among them, the volumes on the Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, and Ning dynasties each consist of two sub-series, totaling approximately 1 million words. The remaining volumes are single sub-series, each with about 500,000 words. The series is nearly 6 million words in total, and it is believed that all important research achievements on 20th-century Chinese literature have been comprehensively included.
