Features: The "Diary of Yang Shangkun" includes excerpts from the diaries written by Comrade Yang Shangkun from 1949 to 1965, totaling approximately 1.1 million words. Some of his diaries were lost during the "Cultural Revolution," which is an irreparable and thus omitted. In addition to the diaries, Comrade Yang Shangkun also preserved some work notes and reading notes. Selected excerpts directly related to the diaries have been included and printed in imitation Song typeface after each day's diary, serving as supplements to the diaries. To maintain the original appearance of the diaries, only occasional misspellings, omissions, redundancies, and obviously incorrect punctuation were corrected during the editing process. To assist readers in understanding the original text, the editors have provided brief annotations for some of the individuals and events mentioned in the diaries.
