Features: Acupuncture and moxibustion is a discipline that utilizes needles or moxa to prevent and treat diseases, including four main parts: meridians, acupoints, needling and moxibustion methods, and acupuncture therapy. It can treat over 300 conditions, with more than 100 showing significant efficacy. For thousands of years, it has made great contributions to the health of the Chinese people. This medical technique is increasingly being accepted by countries worldwide and has become a part of global medicine. The purpose of compiling this small book is to provide beginners with a shortcut to learning acupuncture. Except for treatment experiences, the entire book is presented in easy-to-remember and catchy rhymes. In the meridian section, you only need to memorize a few dozen lines to grasp the general outline of meridians. Chapter 2 is on acupoints, where rhymes and diagrams are used together—one rhyme explains the location of an acupoint, making it practical and convenient. To align with international standards, the sequence number of each acupoint is noted in the upper corner. Among them, the specific acupoints section teaches clinical acupoint selection methods. Chapter 3 focuses on needling techniques, where a few rhymes are the author's long-standing insights. Chapter 4 is the author's acupoint experience, often involving one acupoint per condition, with immediate effects that can be repeated in clinical practice. Chapter 5 is the "acupoint selection experience" of the author's teacher, Professor Yang Jiasan. Professor Yang is a renowned acupuncturist in China and served as the head of the Acupuncture and Tuina Department at Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He was the first to propose the "three edges, three intervals" characteristics of acupoints, meaning acupoints are often found at the edges of muscles, tendons, or bones ("three edges"), and between muscles, tendons, or bones ("three intervals"). He was also the first to suggest using natural surface landmarks and a grid system (horizontal and vertical coordinates) to locate adjacent acupoints, classify them by meridian or region, and compare their positions. This method is simple, easy to understand, and master, making it highly suitable for clinical and teaching needs.
