Features: Medical immunology is a fundamental discipline in medicine, characterized by high theory, high technology, multi-edge, and multi-crossing, and it is also one of the fastest-developing fields. This book is a textbook for five-year clinical medicine students. It has been published in its first, second, and third editions in 1993, 1995, and 1999, respectively, and has continuously received praise from peers and readers. In recent years, there has been a call for the compilation of a fourth edition, which serves as both encouragement and motivation for us. Based on the development of the discipline and past usage experience, each subsequent edition has undergone significant revisions. With the advancement of technology and the pace of knowledge updates, the chapters in the fourth edition have been modified to varying degrees, with rewrite rates ranging from 20% to 40%. Some chapters, such as the "MHC" chapter, have been rewritten by up to 80%. The fourth edition adds three new chapters: "CD Molecules and Adhesion Molecules," "Lymphocytes," and "Antigen-Presenting Cells," all of which provide a progressive and in-depth reflection of the current molecular-level evolution. Two chapters have been removed: "Anti-Infection Immunity" and "Immune-Mediated Diseases." The former has been removed due to significant overlap with the corresponding chapters in "Medical Microbiology," while the latter's content can be condensed and integrated into the "Immune Deficiency Diseases" chapter.
