Modern Yoga Bible. Light on Yoga. Revised Edition 3

Author: B.K.S. Iyengar
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-11-01
Features: The book is titled "Light on Yoga." Its purpose is to describe each asana and pranayama as concisely as possible within the context of our era, given the knowledge we possess and our unique needs. Therefore, the descriptions of each asana and pranayama in the book are extremely detailed, all derived from my 27 years of teaching experience around the world. The entire book includes the complete techniques of 200 asanas, accompanied by 592 photographs to help practitioners master the relevant poses. Additionally, the book includes bandhas, shatkarmas, and pranayamas, illustrated with 5 photographs. All ancient yoga classics emphasize the importance of having a personal teacher's guidance during practice. My experience has also confirmed this wise proverb, so I have strived to guide readers—both teachers and students—with methods to correctly and safely master these asanas and pranayamas through this book. In Appendix I, the author introduces a 300-week course for dedicated practitioners, organizing them into combined stages based on the structure of various asanas. In Appendix II, the author groups asanas according to their different therapeutic values.
