Features: Clinical diagnosis and treatment are highly time-sensitive tasks. The phrase "Time is health, time is life" is entirely appropriate. For each patient, an early diagnosis and timely, rational treatment are crucial: mild cases can be cured and recovered more quickly, while critical cases can be saved from the brink of death. The urgency of "gaining every second" is a professional characteristic of healthcare workers. This fully reflects the noble virtues of white-coated warriors in "saving lives and healing the injured, practicing revolutionary humanitarianism." The Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, with a history of over 110 years, has developed a tradition of swift, efficient, and accurate diagnosis and treatment through extensive medical practice. It has accumulated rich and effective experience in treating acute, critical, and diseases, as well as common and prevalent conditions. In recent years, through broad domestic and international academic exchanges, it has also formed new experiences with modern high-tech characteristics. It is believed that it is necessary to summarize and organize these experiences for clinical doctors, especially those in training, internships, and community-based medical workers, to benefit the general public. This book was thus created.
The Physician Quick Reference Series is a series of practical manuals organized by experienced senior physicians from our hospital, who have rich clinical experience, to facilitate quick access to diagnostic and treatment information for different departments and specialized diseases in the busy daily work of clinical doctors. The series will be published in volumes for internal medicine, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, ophthalmology and otolaryngology, etc., to cater to the needs of doctors from different specialties. The content is written with the following features: starting from clinical symptoms, it introduces relevant diseases, including common, prevalent, difficult, critical, and rare conditions. It lists clinical manifestations, diagnostic criteria, and treatment methods, providing readers with mature, innovative, and effective diagnostic and treatment plans. Additionally, this book addresses specific questions frequently encountered in clinical practice and teaching, offering references to prevent potential diagnostic and treatment errors. At the end of the book, normal values for clinical laboratory tests are provided for the convenience of clinical doctors.
The compilers believe that this series is comprehensive, standardized, concise, easy to consult, practical, and time-saving. However, the actual effectiveness still needs to be tested by clinical practice and judged by the readers. Due to the busy nature of clinical work and the tight schedule of writing, along with limitations in writing skills, imperfections and omissions are inevitable. We kindly ask the readers to provide feedback for corrections and supplements in future editions to improve the book.
