Features: During World War II, the already graying Roy indulges in memories from twenty years ago on the newly rebuilt Waterloo Bridge. During an air raid, Roy accidentally meets ballet dancer Mala Lester, and their timeless love begins. Under the pressing war situation, Roy is recalled to the battlefield and unable to hold a wedding, while Mala Lester is dismissed along with her friend Katy for failing to return to her dance troupe for a farewell. Despite unemployment and poverty, she still longs for Roy's return. Yet, the newspaper publishes news of Roy's death, leaving Mala Lester bedridden. Katy sells herself to obtain food and medicine and encourages Mala Lester to survive. Upon recovering from her illness, Mala Lester is deeply moved upon discovering Katy's truth, and in her own despair, she too joins this. Amidst the ups and downs of her life, Mala Lester forces a smile at the station, only to suddenly see Roy's figure. Reunited with Roy, Mala Lester is panicked and feels inferior, but Roy is filled with overwhelming joy. Their reunion reignites Mala Lester's hope for life, and with Katy's blessings, she follows Roy. Upon returning to Roy's home, their match of talents and beauty at the grand welcome ball leaves everyone envious. Their deep affection is revealed, but the Duke's words plunge Mala Lester into turmoil. To avoid disgracing Roy's family's glorious tradition, even Roy's deep love cannot save the harsh reality. The devoted Mala Lester resolves to leave, as the saying goes, "If heaven has feelings, even it grows old." The tragedy in chaos continues.
