Features: "Discovery Journey" reveals various scientific content from a scientific perspective and attitude. The term "discovery" does not merely involve a superficial presentation of new scenes or ideas, but rather an objective and in-depth exploration of the scientific significance behind the surface, allowing readers not only to know one aspect but also understand the deeper context, truly experiencing the charm of discovery. Discovery itself is a process, and this book presents it through a combination of real records and recreations, enabling audiences to feel the rigor and joy of pursuing and exploring the unknown world.
What kind of program is "Discovery Journey," or where does its value lie? First and foremost, a program should realize its artistic value. Compared to other programs, "Discovery Journey" has very distinct characteristics. Its appeal lies in emphasizing a storytelling approach. It starts with a story, then connects to the events leading up to it, and finally reveals the scientific key to solving the mystery. Here, knowledge is placed in the background, with stories driving the knowledge and integrating science into the plot to achieve the purpose of education through entertainment. This entertainment-oriented creative approach is not our invention, but we were indeed pioneers in science programs in China.
Second, there is the media value of the program. A good program, one with artistic value, must inevitably fulfill the role of education and publicity. Education and publicity can take various forms—whether through loud calls to action or direct expression, or through calm and objective dissemination of the scientific spirit. We chose the latter.
Third, there is the social value. At this level, it primarily reflects a cognitive value. Science itself is a clearly defined attitude—seeking truth, being pragmatic, and being realistic. It gradually infuses the audience with the spirit and attitude of science, naturally leading to the of social value. And I believe this is precisely what is currently missing in our national spirit.
