Features: Martial arts grandmaster, a generation of genius, Master Wan Laisheng (1903—1992), native of Gedian, Ezhou, Hubei. In 1946, he settled in Fuzhou, becoming a renowned martial artist, combat master, and a master of the natural door. He was also a celebrated physician of the wind injury branch in the southern region. In his lifetime, he practiced and shared the five treasures of "Literature, Martial Arts, Tao, Virtue, and Medicine," and upheld the four virtues of "Trust, Righteousness, Chivalry, and Courage." He was known as the "Literary Star of Martial Arts" and praised as the "Light of Martial Arts." He was further lauded with the spirit of "Qin Song and Han Bo" and the integrity of "Xia Yi and Shang Ding."
Master Wan left behind millions of words of manuscripts, including specialized works on martial arts, qigong, medicine, literature, philosophy, and history. There are also essays, musings, proverbs, aphorisms, and recollections. After eighty years of practice and refinement, he developed a unique martial arts system—Wan Laisheng Martial Arts. It draws on the essence of Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, medicine, and martial arts, blending the internal and external schools of Shaolin and Wudang, as well as the northern and southern styles. It emphasizes strengths while avoiding weaknesses, refining and selecting the best, incorporating the three skills of "Soft, Hard, and Light" and the three methods of "Skillful, Wonderful, and Transformative."
A significant portion of this system consists of secrets passed down by predecessors only to chosen disciples. These are fully disclosed in Master Wan’s martial arts writings, especially in his later manuscripts, without any private reservations. The explanations are detailed, accompanied by personal demonstrations and illustrated with visuals, making the teachings comprehensive and easy to understand.
