Features: This book is the diary of C.A. Tolstaya, the wife of the world-renowned writer Leo Tolstoy, covering the period from 1862 to 1910. The wife of Tolstoy was not only intelligent, unique, energetic, diligent, and cultured but also possessed a natural literary talent, extraordinary insight, and refined aesthetic tastes. These qualities make the book exceptionally authentic and fitting in portraying the complex, melancholic, and emotionally tormented soul of a woman. The Chinese version of this diary sparked great interest in the early 1980s, and this edition is a revised and selected collection. Tolstoy was a great Russian writer of the 19th century, and humanitarianism formed the main theme of his works. His gaze was always fixed on the people, and for decades, one idea tormented him: "It is no longer acceptable to live a shameful life surrounded by extreme poverty." In this book, you can see a Leo Tolstoy as a husband and a father, a Tolstoy previously unknown to us, a Leo Tolstoy gradually detaching himself from the family and wholeheartedly immersing himself in the world of humanitarianism! This is the diary written by the wife of the great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy about his family life and the relationships among family members. It gives us a glimpse into a previously unknown Leo Tolstoy—a father, a husband, a brother, a younger brother, and a son.
