Features: This book is for the Japanese Proficiency Test Level 1 Reading Comprehension. Through the summarization and organization of a large number of recent past exam questions, combined with the authors' long-term experience in tutoring candidates, the book first presents 5 self-assessment tests in the form of preliminary tests. These include: essays, dialogues, narratives, novels, and argumentative essays, allowing candidates to first assess their own strengths and weaknesses. Then, it moves on to the explanation of reading methods and problem-solving techniques. To illustrate these methods and techniques, most of the explanations use past exam questions as examples. As for the self-assessment tests, the book also includes other questions that closely resemble the style and difficulty of the current proficiency test.
The latter part of the book includes long reading passages. Since the Japanese Level 1 long reading section consists of five types of genres: expository texts, descriptive texts, essays, novels, and dialogues, the book first explains how to approach these long reading passages before moving into the comprehensive ability test stage. The book is divided into four parts: self-assessment tests, reading methods and techniques, long reading passages, and reference answers. The content includes instructions; extracting the same content; extracting the main theme and reasons/reasons; fill-in-the-blanks; diagram and chart questions, etc.
