What causes intracranial hemorrhage in children?

Patient's question:

My son's health has been relatively okay, but suddenly fainted the day before yesterday for some unknown reason. We took him to the hospital for examination, and the doctor said it was an intracranial hemorrhage, which made me very anxious. I would like to ask what causes intracranial hemorrhage in children?

Doctor's answer:

Neonatal intracranial hemorrhage is primarily caused by four factors: premature birth or neonatal hypoxia-ischemia. Hypoxia and acidosis can impair the autoregulation of cerebral blood flow. Other causes include fetal position abnormalities caused by trauma; and other reasons such as taking phenytoin and other medications during pregnancy.
1. Prematurity All factors that may lead to fetal or neonatal hypoxia and antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum ischemia can cause intracranial hemorrhage, and it is very common in premature infants.
2. Hemodynamic abnormalities Hypoxia and acidosis can impair the autoregulation of cerebral blood flow.
