Features: This chronicle was initiated by us in 1983, but later, as we focused on writing the biography first, the work on the chronicle was put on hold. It wasn’t until after the publication of "Biography of Peng Dehuai" in 1993 that we fully resumed the effort. The interruption in the chronicle’s progress delayed its publication, but it also provided favorable conditions for its compilation. Over the past decade, the publication of numerous works on Party history and military history, personal recollections, and diaries has been immensely helpful to us. It allowed us to incorporate many new historical materials into the book and to verify and authenticate some previously questionable sources, thereby enriching the content and improving the accuracy of this work.
